Visitor’s in Romania

Hello friends!

For the past couple of weeks we had some visitors from our home church Refuge Huntington Beach.  Teresa and Peter Short came out for a week long visit to do an assessment on the Refuge House here in Bucharest.  The whole purpose of their visit was to meet with contractors to get some necessary work started on the house, so our ministry can move back in and begin opening up the house to the kids.  During their time here, they got to spend a lot of time with many of the kids they have become extremely close to along with the opportunity to join in on our day to day ministry with the kids.  God certainly was clearly with us!  Peter met with the contractors, and we were amazed!  The first contractor spoke fluent English, and the second spoke fluent Spanish.  Peter speaks both fluently!  I love how God provides in such practical and needful ways!

As of last week we have moved our offices back into Refuge House, and the work has begun.  It is amazing how God is providing every step of the way.  It will take some time, money, and effort to get the house to the place where it can be a full functioning center for the kids, but we are well on our way.  The electrical is being worked on as well as the exterior of the building.

Our prayer is that God will provide the rest of the funds, so we can create a recreational center for the kids.  We are already doing English lessons, Bible studies, tutoring, and mentoring programs, but we want to do so much more!  We would love to turn the sanctuary room into a huge hang out center where the kids can come hang out and feel safe and loved.  Also, it would be a huge blessing to begin church service there for the kids!

Two others also came to visit last week!  What a blessing it was to have Jonathon Ferguson and Eric Ott here to encourage us and walk along side us and witness what our ministry does each day.  Jonathon is the Mission’s Pastor and Eric is a Board Member from Refuge HB.  Their whole visit was just to pour out their love and encouragement on our team and to really get a good understanding of what God is doing here in Romania.

Not only did they all come for specific reasons, but they spent a lot of time hanging out and encouraging the kids.  It just blesses my heart to see how much they love the kids.  You can see that Jesus has filled their hearts with genuine love and concern for them.  We are so excited to work with them, and I know that God is and will continue to do amazing things in the hearts and lives of these children we serve in Romania.

Please come alongside us in prayer for all the kids we serve.  Many of them have been hurt and abused in many different ways.  Pray that Jesus would give us wisdom, direction, grace, love, and provision to help these kids overcome the horrible lives they endure.  Pray they will see a future and hope in Jesus, and they would give their hearts to Him.

Please pray about financially supporting the ministry.  It is easy.  Simply clink on the PayPal link and set up a small monthly contribution.  If many donate a small amount monthly, it will enable this ministry to grow and provide for the kids.  Thank you for your consideration.

Blessings to you and yours,

Costi

  1. Thank you for letting us know what’s happening. It’s great that people from Refuge came to visit and get involved in the kids lives.
Big change to move the ministry to the Ministry House. I can visualize the rooms the way they were back when I was there.
Praying for the requests. Te iubesc, Debbie Oakes
